Open source isn't our strategy.
It's our identity.
Most clouds are black boxes: you rent capability and trust the label. We do it differently.Every layer of ScaleSpace — from the Debian base operating system to the dashboard you click — is open source software, running in production at network scale, operated by the same team that runs an ISP on it.
We build on Debian only. It is the most rigorously community-governed operating system in the world, and it has carried our network for years. On top of it we run the giants of open infrastructure — OpenStack, Ceph,Kubernetes, Open vSwitch/OVN,FRRouting, PostgreSQL — projects stewarded by the Debian Project, the OpenInfra Foundation, the Linux Foundation and CNCF, and the Apache Software Foundation.
This isn't idealism (okay, it's a little idealism). It's engineering: open source means we can audit what runs your workloads, fix issues at the source, and never pass a vendor's licence shock on to you. And it means you are never trapped — everything we run, you could run. That's the point.
Our commitment upstream: we report what we break, document what we learn, and as we grow, we sponsor the projects we depend on.
